Natasha & Will’s Private Vows in the Redwoods & Sunset Session on the Oregon Coast

Still thinking about this day with Natasha & Will — it was one of those sessions that stays with you forever. They chose to exchange their private vows in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, surrounded by some of the tallest and most awe-inspiring trees in the world, before heading up the coast to Lone Ranch Beach in Oregon for a golden sunset session.

A Private Vow Ceremony in the Redwoods

The redwoods in Northern California hold a special meaning for Natasha. Her grandfather had a deep love for these ancient giants, and while she and Will had never visited the park before, this spot felt like the most fitting place to honor that connection.

Standing in the quiet of the forest, surrounded by towering trees and filtered golden light, the moment felt sacred. Their words carried a weight that was both intimate and timeless. You could feel the emotion in the air — a mix of love, gratitude, and legacy — and it was such a privilege to document it.

Chasing Sunset at Lone Ranch Beach

After their vows, we crossed into Oregon to catch the sunset at Lone Ranch Beach, just outside of Brookings. The shift from the stillness of the forest to the wide-open freedom of the coastline couldn’t have been more perfect. Natasha and Will ran along the shore, laughed until their cheeks hurt, and fully embraced the carefree, adventurous spirit of the Oregon Coast.

The waves crashed behind them, the sky lit up in pastel tones, and every moment felt effortless. It was the perfect reminder of why Oregon Coast elopements and destination vow exchanges are so unforgettable — the landscapes themselves become part of the story.

The Beauty of a Private Vow Session Before the Wedding

What I loved most about this day was how present Natasha and Will were with each other. No distractions, no stress, just the two of them (and their videographer, Chris at Good Co Studios) savoring every second. Documenting that kind of intentional love is a gift I’ll never take for granted.

And knowing I got to capture these moments just days before photographing their wedding made it even more special. Natasha and Will are truly the sweetest souls, and I feel so lucky to be part of their journey.

Thinking About Your Own Private Vows?

If you’ve ever dreamed of exchanging vows somewhere breathtaking, whether it’s among the redwoods of Northern California or on the Oregon Coast, this day is proof that it’s worth it. Choosing a location that holds meaning to you — or exploring a place for the very first time — can make your vow exchange feel even more powerful and personal.

Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement, a private vow session before your wedding, or simply want photos that reflect who you are, I’d love to help you craft a day that feels like you.
